3 things a college bound student should know

When students enter high school most of them already have senioritis meaning most of them think that they are all ready for college. They think that high school is going to be a breeze and they can just get by without trying , but little do most students know that what they do in high school effects their future for choices in college. There are three important things a college bound senior needs to know.

First thing a college bound student should know is that just getting by in high school is not the smartest decision. They need to learn while they are in high school, good study habits because that will help them when they enter college. Good note taking is something I wish I would have learned how to do because I find myself taking more notes than ever now. Especially since it’s not done on a power point nor a projector you actually have to pay attention and listen to what is going on so you can transfer those thoughts onto paper as your study guide. Note taking is the first piece of advice I have for a senior.

Second piece of advice would be to search around for their books instead of just going to the bookstores that the institution offers because as I learned when I got here you can definitely find a better deal on books. Most students do not really even care to look around for the cheaper price because if their parents are willing to pay for the books they could careless as long as they do not have to pay for it. Even though my parents could care less about me looking around for the cheaper books it still wouldn’t be bad because I could spend the money on clothes or something else other than books. It also would be better for more teens that have to pay for their own college to know that they can get books for cheap because that would definitely help them out as well.

Last but not least I would have to say try and room with someone you know because after getting here and meeting people that did pot luck not everyone had the best of luck. One of my good friends did pot luck and her roommate and she are total opposites that do not get along. At one point my friend was sleeping and started talking in her sleep, and then she woke up to her roommate standing over her asking if she was okay. Honestly that is pretty creepy so I definitely advice a senior to at least try and get to know your roommate before you move in either facebook them or call them because it’s like Forest Gump said life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you’re going to get.

There are many different things a college bound seniors should know before they go into college but many senior student do not want to listen but once they get into college they will realize it is not as easy as they think. Most students just think that going off to college is a time to party and get away from their parents so they tend to go a little wild when they get away but that is definitely not the smartest thing to do. College is a time for students to sit down and get their life in order I just wish that students in high school would start thinking about their decisions sooner than later because what they do in high school does affect their decisions later on.

Yes, I agree. One has to get over senioritis quickly. Getting back into the new challenge of college is difficult. Rooming with people is a difficult one, in part because we don't always get to choose, and dealing with those situations, in close proximity, can be new to people. Yes, indeed, pretty creepy, as you say.

Think about comma usage as you work to revise this for a letter format.

In the last sentence of your introduction paragraph you should list what the most important things the college bound seniors should know.
